Rail BOT Privacy Policy

Rail BOT is an independent Chrome extension that helps you choose journeys, trains, coaches and seats on the Bangladesh Railway e-ticket website. It is not affiliated with Bangladesh Railway or its ticketing operator.

Information used by the extension

Rail BOT processes the journey and seat preferences you enter: departure and destination stations, journey date, preferred time, train, class, coach, seat preference, seat position, seat count and optional exact-seat choice. It reads the active railway page URL and the station/class catalogue, train results, coach and seat map, availability, displayed fares, reservation totals and boarding-point options needed for its features.

It does not read or store passwords, authentication cookies, tokens, national identity information, passenger identity records or payment credentials. It does not access general browser history, device location, personal communications or unrelated websites.

Use and local storage

Journey preferences and station/class catalogues are saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. Chrome storage sync is not used. Current page snapshots and activity messages are used in memory to display results, validate the current route and seat map, and explain actions. They are not sent to the developer. Local extension storage is not a password vault and Rail BOT does not add its own encryption layer.

Sharing and website actions

Rail BOT has no developer-operated server, analytics, advertising or tracking service. The developer does not receive your journey preferences or page content through the extension, and the extension does not sell data.

When you start an action, Rail BOT fills or clicks normal controls on eticket.railway.gov.bd. This sends the selected journey or seat request to the railway service over the website's secure connection and can temporarily reserve seats. The railway service handles those requests under its own policies. You complete sign-in, passenger details, verification, terms and payment directly on that website.

Retention and deletion

The latest saved preferences and catalogues remain locally until replaced or the extension's local data is removed. Uninstalling Rail BOT removes its local extension data from that Chrome profile. Removing the extension or its data does not cancel reservations or purchases already made on the railway website.

Permissions

Storage retains local preferences and catalogues. Side panel access provides the interface beside the railway page. Scripting reads the station widget and reconnects packaged page scripts. Website access is restricted to eticket.railway.gov.bd. All extension code ships in the installation package.

Limited use

Rail BOT uses information only to provide its journey and seat-selection features. Its use and transfer of information follow the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is not used for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

If you contact the developer, provide only the information necessary to describe your issue; do not send passwords, identity documents or payment information.
